Season opening

15.10.1998 / Leah Dembsky

Xylophonist Irina Graiver’s performance on September 14 opened a new season of philharmonic evenings in the Chaim Shkolnik’s salon romance in Jaffa. The audience warmly received the young soloist, who demonstrated high mastery of the instrument. And this is not surprising as the artist has been performing for ten years in the symphony orchestras in her country of origin.

The repertoire of the concert of Irina Graver pleased with the taste and variety: both immortal creations of the classics and famous contemporary hits have been performed. The audience was especially delighted with works requiring virtuoso mastery: Rimsky-Korsakov's “Flight of the Bumblebee”, Mozart's “Turkish March”, Kabalevsky's “Gallop”, Monti's “Czardas”, and Shostakovich's “Spanish Dance”. The sounds of such an unusual, extraordinary instrument as a xylophone gave birth to a joyful atmosphere of sacrament involvement in the hall.
