About me
My musical story began in the first months of my life, with the songs my mother sang to me. I not only listened to them but also precisely repeated the motive. Since then I sang constantly and everywhere: at home, on the street, in kindergarten, later I performed at school concerts. When I was 5 years old, the family moved from the Urals where I was born, to Tashkent.
In Tashkent, I began engaging in music. At the age of 11, I entered the music school in the class of percussion instruments. Why exactly drums? A girl with absolute hearing would be more suitable to play the piano or violin. But I had no choice: at the age of two, I fractured a finger on my hand. With a broken finger, it was impossible to learn to play either strings, winds or piano. And then my mother, knowing how I dreamed about music, found a solution: learn to play the xylophone.
Hence, this word came into my life: "xylophone." As I later learned, this Greek word included two meanings: "xylos" – a tree, "phone" – sound (a tree that makes a sound).
From the first lessons, I fell in love with this instrument being surprised at how simple wooden planks can make pleasant sounds that turn into Music. I performed (and continue playing) the works of Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Bizet, Brahms and many other composers in an arrangement for the xylophone. Much later, while studying at the Tashkent Conservatory, I began to play the marimba and vibraphone – these are two more of my preferred instruments.
Although, I am attracted not only by the xylophone, marimba, or vibraphone. Drums – from the smallest to the largest, a variety of rhythms, an array of tones, the ability to express musical ideas through different sound production – these are the things that I enjoy while playing the percussion instruments.
For 10 years I played in the orchestras of Tashkent, Moscow, Yaroslavl. In 1996, I repatriated to Israel and accomplished my dream here: I began giving solo concerts on the xylophone and marimba. Over the years, many fascinating programs have been produced. Among them: “Music from operettas and musicals”, “French collection”, “Latin wind”, etc.
All my programs include both classical pieces and popular tunes. Performing in many cities of Israel, I see my work resonates in the hearts of people, I hear words of gratitude. And they give me strength for creativity. They grant me the strength to perform music. Music for the soul.
